What are Review Engagements?

Review engagements provide a limited assurance over the financial statements of your organization. Unlike compilations that don’t provide any level of assurance on the financial statements, reviews can provide readers of the financial statements a level of comfort to the readers of the financial statements such as shareholder, lenders and funders. The limited assurance is achieved through analytical and inquiry procedures.

Additionally, for the financial statements prepared under a review engagement these are prepared under a recognized accounting framework such as the Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE) or the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). These standards include additional notes to the statements that are required for disclosure and provide more details to the readers of the financial statements.
